AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, which comes from 2 Timothy 2:15: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” It emphasizes child discipleship and Scripture memorization in an environment that keeps kids engaged.
AWANA has clubs for pre-school through high school: Cubbies (Pre-K, three years and up), Sparks (kindergarten through second grade), T&T (third through sixth grades), Trek (seventh and eight grades), and Journey (high school).
Awana is a registration-based program. The program coincides with the school year and meets each Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:30pm in the Kids building. Our club starts mid-August, but kids are welcome to join throughout the school year.
What to Expect
Each week our clubbers are challenged to recite Scripture passages that teach them about Jesus and how to follow Him. Time is also carved out to play games, learn together, and hang out in a Christ centered setting. It is an exciting program filled with teamwork, friendly competition, and prizes, giving each kid room to learn and grow.
Safety & Security
The security and well-being of your child is our utmost priority. We want you to be confident that your child is in a safe environment so you can focus worry free on your own worship experience at ACC.
Each of the leaders and volunteers are thoroughly background checked and referenced. Leaders and volunteers work in pairs and at least one of them has been trained in first aid. For additional peace of mind, each room in the Children’s Building is video monitored.
